Dental Plans

Anyone, age 18 and older, is eligible to apply for and purchase a dental plan. All Affordable Care Act-compliant plans provide pediatric dental coverage up to the age of 19 (plans sold through the Marketplace on Healthcare.gov).

Yes, you can continue to see your current dentist.

There are no waiting periods for:

• Diagnostic and preventive services
• Emergency treatment of dental pain
• Routine restorative services including fillings, tooth extractions and oral surgery

For all other services, there is a 12-month benefit waiting period. The waiting period is waived if you have been continuously covered under a Delta Dental of South Dakota employer-sponsored group policy for at least the last 12 months. Waiting periods must be satisfied if there has been a lapse in coverage or for new members who are added to this policy.
